tein Homes only uses the highest quality construction materials purchased from the most reputable suppliers providing quality products at affordable prices. Our sub-contractors have been with us for decades and deliver the quality workmanship we demand.

Customers can count on company owners Chris and Mary Lou Stein to work with them to individually address each and every concern. We do not use building superintendents or hide behind managers.

Stein Homes foundations are professionally engineered and constructed using the most current building techniques and are custom designed for the soil conditions of each homes site. We build only rebar-reinforced concrete foundations to ensure maximum structural integrity (we do not construct post-tension or cable foundations).

All walls and roofs are hand cut and custom framed at 16 inch intervals. All exterior masonry walls are covered with ½”plywood or ½”OSB for optimal strength. Framed walls are poly sealed where electrical and plumbing lines pass through into the attic.
 

We proudly build homes that are highly energy efficient, which saves our customers thousands of dollars over the life of their home. We install Trane 14 SEER air-conditioning systems with heat pumps, which are ideal for keeping our customers cool during hot Texas summers. Our roofs are decked with radiant-barrier products, to reflect the sun’s rays. Our attics have both ridge and continuous soffit ventilation, so that hot air escapes from the attic. We use high-quality fiberglass ceiling and wall insulation. We wrap all exterior walls with Tyvec house wrap. We use double paned windows with low E glass, and individually tape and seal each window with Tyvec window construction tape before they are caulked and sealed.

We offer Vanguard overhead plumbing or conventional copper plumbing. All drains in the foundation are tested for leaks prior to pouring concrete.

Our electrical packages provide state of the art phone systems with panels, Cat 5 wiring for high-speed Internet access, wireless networking and security systems for your family’s safety.

We install 100% wood custom made cabinetry using numerous options and features,  that truly accentuate our kitchens. Counter tops and back-splashes are available in various hard surfaces, with ceramic tile laid down in custom designs a particular favorite of our customers.

Stein Homes takes great pride in the custom interior finishes that enhance our homes. Crown molding, fluted casing around doors, wood-cased windows, and a variety of rosettes and custom millwork give our homes the unique and sophisticated styling that truly make a custom home special. Windowsills are hand crafted from wood to match and compliment the style of your home’s interior. Our woodwork is custom routered by experienced and talented craftsmen.

Bathroom showers, tubs and counters are available in ceramic tile, marble, cultured marble, glass block and most other hard surfaces. Taking your needs into account, we combine and customize the use of these materials to deliver exactly what each homeowner needs. As in the kitchens, mosaic tile work and custom tile design and cutting are our specialty.
