About our self build program
Stein homes is now offering an
unsurpassed build-your-own-home program. Our twenty plus years
of building experience and knowledge are completely available to
you under this program. Chris and Mary Lou Stein will personally
work with you through the entire process to insure your complete
satisfaction. Our program is unique in the following ways:
- The buyer has full and complete
access to our many reputable sub-contractors
and suppliers.
- The buyer receives our builder
prices and discounts on all phases of their home construction.
- Stein Homes will proudly build,
completely manage and warranty any of the homes under our self
build program starting at 10% above the self build package price
if buyers change their mind for any reason and decides not to be
their own builder.
- We have excellent financing up
to 100% at competitive rates that may include your land or lot,
construction financing and long-term financing.
- What separates us from other
self build programs is that we are active custom home builders
who are able to "bail you out" at any time if you find the
process is too stressful or time-consuming.
- We are available to you by
phone at all times including most evenings and weekends.
- We can offer up to a 10 year
home warranty plan.
The process

- Make an appointment to meet with
us for a free initial consultation to discuss your
home building ideas, concerns and to discuss potential building
sites.
- Visit building site.
- Make an appointment for you to
have building plans drawn or show you many of our house plans
that are ready to be built or modified to suit your specific
needs.
- Make an appointment for financing
or to pre-qualify with lender.
- Send your completed home plans for
an engineered foundation design.
- We prepare comprehensive and
detailed construction cost analysis.
- We obtain written bids from our
sub-contractors and suppliers.
- Meet with you to
consult and provide you with our detailed construction cost
analysis, material take-offs/cost-sheets and sub-contractor
bids.
- Order survey/lot stake out.
- Make appointment with title
company for construction financing/closing.
- Make appointment with
insurance company to sign forms and purchase
builder's risk insurance.
- You are now ready to begin
construction of your home.
